The Congress on Tuesday placed its claim on the legacy of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel from the land of Gujarat on Tuesday and said that the country’s first Deputy Prime Minister is ‘our Sardar’ and the party is back to struggle against the political, religious polarization and division of communalism, religious polarization and partition walking on their path. Targeting a sharp target at the BJP and the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, the main opposition party also said that a lie was spread about the relationship between Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru and Sardar Patel, while the two were “unique jugalbandi” and the two leaders fought the freedom struggle together under Mahatma Gandhi and created a nation.
Party President Mallikarjun Kharge said that it is ridiculous that they are claiming Patel’s legacy, whose ideology he had opposed and banned it.
Congress emphasized Patel’s legacy
The Congress has insisted on its claim on Patel’s legacy when the BJP is trying to connect Patel’s legacy with him.
A day before the Congress session, there was a meeting of the extended Working Committee of the party on ‘Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Memorial’, which emphasized the legacy of Patel as well as the strength of the organization, various political subjects and proposals related to the session to be held on April 9.
Organizational reshuffle in Congress soon
After the meeting, Congress General Secretary KC Venugopal said that the party is going to make organizational reshuffle soon and steps related to empowering the District Congress Committees (DCC) will be taken soon.
The meeting was attended by Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, party parliamentary party chief Sonia Gandhi, Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, Organization General Secretary KC Venugopal, General Secretary Jairam Ramesh, Mukul Wasnik, Gujarat Pradesh Congress Committee President Shakti Singh Gohil and many other senior leaders attended.
Other members of the Working Committee, President of State Congress committees, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu, Congress Legislature Party leader and former Chief Minister also attended this meeting.
Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi could not attend this meeting due to being abroad. The party’s organization general secretary Venugopal said that Priyanka Gandhi had already taken permission from the Congress President regarding her absence.
Party General Secretary Jairam Ramesh said that a total of 35 leaders could not attend the meeting and in such a situation it is not right to question only one (Priyanka). A total of 158 leaders attended the meeting of the Working Committee.
BJP and Sangh staggering
In the initial address of the Working Committee, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge launched a scathing attack on the BJP and the Sangh and alleged that for the last several years, a thought is being run a thought about many national heroes.
He also said that Sardar Patel’s ideology was contrary to the ideas of the Sangh and it is ridiculous that today the people of this organization claim the legacy of Sardar Patel.
Kharge also claimed that through communal division, attention is being diverted from the basic issues of the country and is on the way to control the government by occupying feudal monopoly resources.
Emphasizing the strength of the organization, he said that it is necessary to carry forward the ideology.
A special resolution was also passed in the meeting of the extended Working Committee to commemorate the 150th birth anniversary of the former Deputy Prime Minister.
The title of the proposal is “Freedom Freedom – Our Sardar – Vallabhbhai Patel”.
The illusion of Patel-Nehru being conflicted: Congress
The Congress in its proposal emphasized this, “The Congress is ready to struggle on the strong intentions of the iron man Sardar Patel, who stopped the frenzy of communalism.”
The opposition party said, “This ideology of conflict and partition spread a network of lies, deceit and pranch and spread the illusion of Sardar Patel and Pandit Nehru being conflicting under the conspiracy. This confusion was actually an attack on the freedom struggle and also on the leadership of Gandhi-Nehru-Patel.
He says that this mausoleum of lies could not be fixed, because Sardar Patel himself wrote a letter to Pandit Nehru on August 3, 1947, “Our affection and love towards each other and our unlike friendship, there is no place between us, given the unbroken friendship of about 30 years … our pair is unwavering and unbroken and this is our power”.
Ready for the fight to defeat disharmony-division: Congress
The Congress said, “Today the ruling forces of love, union and association are eager to convert the ruling forces into division and disharmony. Therefore, once again, the Congress is ready to fight to defeat disharmony and division, following these life principles of Sardar Patel.
Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh, citing a special proposal related to Patel, said, “Our proposal will be completely clear from what a unique jugalbandi was there in Sardar Patel ji and Nehru ji. Both these people were the creators of modern India and they fought for the freedom of the country under the leadership of Gandhiji. ”
Ramesh emphasized that those who spread lies about Sardar Patel and Nehru’s relationship should know that these two leaders have contributed a lot in the creation of the country.
After the working committee meeting, there will be a session on April 9.
This session of the party in Gujarat is taking place after 64 years. The theme of this session will be ‘Justice Path: Sankalp, Dedication, Struggle’.
