In West Bengal, Leader of Opposition Shubhendu Adhikari had filed a petition in the Kolkata High Court. He claimed that the bomb blasts occurred during communal riots in the Muslim -dominated district. A division bench of Justice Samen Sen and Justice Raja Basu Chaudhary was hearing this petition. In the report released by the Mamta government, the situation of law and order in Murshidabad district is under control.
Families migrating returned home
The state government also said before the court that adequate steps have been taken by the police and administration to prevent violence in the district. The government claimed that some affected families who migrated have already returned to their homes. Investigation should be handed over to NIA
Shubhendu Officer, in his petition, requested the court to hand over the investigation to the National Investigation Agency (NIA). At the same time, the lawyer appearing with the Center requested before the court that the deployment of CAPF (Central Armed Police Force) in Murshidabad should be extended for some time in view of the sensitivity of the ground situation of the district. It may be noted that to prevent violence, about 17 companies of central forces are currently deployed in the disturbed Sati, Shamserganj-Dhulian areas.
