Hundreds of women, men and youth raised slogans to welcome Maulana Firoz Alam who reached Ghazipur town after being released from jail in Fatehpur district of UP. Said the fight will be continued, Maulana said Insha Allah. On the protest by other communities due to sloganeering, the police became active and arrested 19 people including Maulana, took them to the police station and sent them to jail again.
In this case, Ghazipur Police says that Maulana Mohammad Firoz Alam is a resident of Nepal who was living in the district fraudulently. There were many allegations against him including religious conversion. He was sent to jail. Slogans were being raised after seeing Maulana in the town after his release from jail. An attempt was being made to spoil the mutual harmony by posting its video on social media. He was arrested again and action was taken.
Let us tell you that Mohd. Firoz Alam Rizvi, a resident of Nepal, who was an Imam in a madrasa in Ghazipur town, was sent to jail by the police last year on charges of forcibly converting Hindus. Firoz, who was detained in jail, got bail from the High Court on Friday and was released. On Saturday, Ghazipur police again sent him behind bars along with his supporters.
