Investors are constantly interested in mutual funds. In January 2025 also, the investment figure through the Systematic Investment Plan (SIP) crossed Rs 26,000 crore. Along with this, assets of all open-ended mutual funds also saw an increase in under management (AUM).
SIP was Rs 26,400 crore in January
In January 2025, mutual funds were invested Rs 26,400 crore through SIP. Earlier, in December 2024, the figure was Rs 26,459 crore. This is the second consecutive month when mutual funds SIP figure remains crossing Rs 26,000 crore. This makes it clear that investors are making long -term investments in the stock market with discipline.
Investment of Rs 1.87 lakh crore in open-ended mutual funds
In January, a total investment of Rs 1.87 lakh crore was made in all open-ended mutual funds. This is more than an investment of Rs 80,509 crore recorded in December 2024. Along with this, the total AUM (AUM) of open-ended mutual funds also increased to Rs 66.98 lakh crore, which was Rs 66.66 lakh crore in December. This reflects an increase of 0.49 percent.
Trend of investment in equity mutual funds
Equity mutual funds made an investment of Rs 39,687 crore in January 2025. However, it is 3.6 percent less than an investment of Rs 41,155.9 crore recorded in December 2024.
Largecap funds: An investment of Rs 3,063.3 crore came in January, while in December the figure was Rs 2,010.9 crore.
Midcap funds: This category had an inflow of Rs 5,147.8 crore, which was Rs 5,093.2 crore in December.
Smallcap funds: Investors also remained interested in smallcap funds. It invested Rs 5,721 crore in January, which is more than Rs 4,667.7 crore in December.
Record investment in date funds
Investors saw tremendous trend in date funds. In January, a record was invested in this category of Rs 1.28 lakh crore. It shows a big change in the withdrawal of Rs 1.27 lakh crore recorded in December a month ago.
Investment doubles in hybrid funds
In January, investors also saw good interest in hybrid funds. This category made an investment of Rs 8,767.5 crore, which is doubled from Rs 4,369.8 crore recorded in December.
The highest investment in the hybrid category was in Arbitrase Funds, with an inflow of Rs 4,291.7 crore. Last month, the Multi Asset Allocation Funds were the highest investment in the category, but in January, Arbitration Funds took an edge.
The number of mutual fund folios also increases
The number of new investors is also increasing rapidly. In January, the number of mutual fund folio increased to 22.91 crore, which was 22.50 crores in December.
In this way we can say that investors are constantly interested in mutual funds, especially in SIP and debt funds. This trend shows that people are investing for long periods and giving priority to investing with discipline in the market.
