MCA Guinness World Record: Rohit Sharma was playing Ranji Trophy after a long time, so the eyes of the fans were on how the Indian captain, who is trying to regain his form, performs. However, Rohit Sharma could not show anything special and was out after scoring only 3 runs on his home ground. Even though Rohit Sharma could not win the hearts of the fans with his performance, his association definitely won a ‘Guinness World’ record.
Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) on Thursday achieved the ‘Guinness World’ record for making the largest sentence with a cricket ball using 14,505 red and white balls at the Wankhede Stadium. The feat was achieved during MCA’s grand celebrations to mark 50 years of Wankhede Stadium, one of India’s iconic cricket venues.
This stadium has also been the venue for producing some of the superstars of Indian cricket, it was here that India won its second 50 over World Cup title in 2011 under the leadership of legendary cricketer MS Dhoni.
MCA President Ajinkya Naik said, “We are happy to announce that Mumbai Cricket Association has created the largest sentence from a cricket ball ‘Fifty Years of Wankhede Stadium’ using 14,505 red and white cricket balls at the Wankhede Stadium. Has achieved the ‘Guinness World Record’.
He said, “Commemorating the 50th anniversary of the first Test match at Wankhede, this incredible achievement is dedicated to the memory of the late Eknath Solkar and other former Mumbai players who served Mumbai cricket and are no longer with us.”
This record was made on the anniversary of the first international match played between India and West Indies at Wankhede Stadium from 23 to 29 January in 1975. Solkar had scored a century in this match.
“MCA will donate the balls used to achieve this record to budding cricketers from schools, clubs and NGOs in the city to inspire them to achieve greater things in their careers,” the SMA said in a statement. To be encouraged to do so.”
