Ripping co-founder Prasanna Shankar has assets of $ 1.3 billion. Recently, he claimed in an interview that the police was tracking his activities, which was illegal according to him. Shankar also alleged that his wife Divya Shashidhar had a extramarital affair, which was during an attempt to fight for his son’s custody.

‘Open marriage pressured to get married’
According to a report by San Francisco Standard, Shashidhar pressured the open marriage to get married and put hidden cameras in his house to spy. Shashidhar also claimed that she left her career for her husband. Shashidhar said that this was the worst dream of my life. Soon after giving birth to the child in 2016, Shankar forced him to have painful sex. He claimed that this was the primary need of men. When he refused, Shankar threatened to bear the consequences. Prasanna used to come to me and say. Look, sex is a fundamental need for me. You have to do this. It does not matter how much pain you are hurting.

‘Contacted prostitutes’
Shashidhar said that he used to tell me that if you do not do this, I will go out and do this work. In the report, Shashidhar has been referred to an email sent in December 2019, in which Shankar had approached many prostitutes and told him about asking for photos and rates. But later he did not get any response.

Met in 2007, then dating
The two met in 2007, and two years later they started dating. Both Shankar and Shashidhar were the meritorious persons who excelled in their career. Shankar was working in creating a social media platform in Silicon Valley. During this time, he and Shashidhar maintained a long distance relationship, which lasted for many years. Shashidhar had higher education at the University of Cambridge, and in 2013 he met again when Shashidhar was working for Shell in the Netherlands. Despite the apprehensions of Shashidhar’s family, he decided to get married.

The couple was committed to achieving success in their career and personal life. However, after their marriage, many issues came up, which influenced their relationship. Shankar returned to San Francisco in 2015, where he began working as an engineering director in a healthcare startup. In 2017, investigation by Securities and Exchange Commission found that the company was misleading investors, after which Shankar resigned.

In early 2017, he co-install his startup repulsing, which provided businesses a single platform to run human resources, equipment and finance. His colleagues described him as the god of coding and a very good engineer. But his wife claimed that he was careless towards the house. Shashidhar claimed that Shankar was very careless as a husband and father.

‘Always demanded sex’
Shashidhar said in his testimony that when Shankar came back home, he used to sit with his laptop and he had very little time. He alleged that Shankar always demanded sex with him, even if he had limited time.

‘Wife was having a love affair with someone’
Shankar has alleged that his wife was having a love affair with someone, after which he was going through the process of divorce. He claimed that he was talking on the terms of the divorce agreement, but his wife was unhappy with it. His wife “kidnapped” his younger son and took him to America, forcing him to register a case of international child kidnapping. However, the US court ruled in his favor, resulting in an agreement between the two sides.

According to the terms of the agreement, Shankar had to pay around Rs 9 crore and Rs 4.3 lakh per month to his wife. He claimed that after this Shashidhar interacted with him to come to Chennai and share his son’s custody, which happened for some time. However, the tension between the two increased when his wife refused to follow the said agreement, especially about submission of his child’s passport in a shared locker.

After this, Shankar knocked on the door of the court and said that he will share his son’s custody only when his passport is deposited in the locker. She claimed that she did not attend the court hearing and instead filed a police complaint against her. Due to fear of wrong arrest, this technical expert ran away with his son as soon as he knocked on the police door. According to Shankar, he also gave evidence to the police that his son was safe and happy, but the police continued to search for him.
