Rohit Sharma: Rohit Sharma has made up his mind to retire, can play the last test of his career here – report

The way Rohit Sharma batted in the World Cup in the year 2023, he forced the selectors to include him in the team for the T20 World Cup to be held in America and South Africa. This is what happened and India ended the ICC title drought after 13 years under the leadership of Rohit Sharma.

Rohit Sharma performed brilliantly in the Test series against Bangladesh, but after Team India’s 0-3 defeat against New Zealand, hardly anyone could have imagined how fast things changed for Indian captain Rohit Sharma.

Media reports claimed that if the Indian team does not reach the final of the World Test Championship, then many senior players including Rohit may have to retire.

The Indian team is currently trailing 1-2 in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy and Melbourne’s defeat has dealt a huge blow to its hopes of reaching the final of the World Test Championship.

Rohit Sharma has flopped badly in this series. Rohit Sharma has scored only 31 runs in three matches, while Jasprit Bumrah has taken 30 wickets. This tells how much Rohit has flopped.

Indian captain Rohit Sharma may be a better white ball player, but his recent performance in red ball cricket gives rise to many questions.

Apart from this, many veterans are also of the opinion that Rohit Sharma should think about his future. Now a report has claimed that Rohit Sharma has thought about his future.

A report in Times of India claims that there are murmurs of talks with top BCCI officials and selectors regarding retirement, but it is understood that Rohit has already made up his mind.

Although, when and where Rohit’s retirement will be announced is anyone’s guess, it is highly unlikely that the Indian captain will continue in his post even after the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.

Rohit will undoubtedly want to convince the selectors to keep him for the World Test Championship (WTC) final, if India reaches there. However, if they do not do so, then Sydney will be Rohit’s last test. If reports are to be believed, the selectors know what is going to happen next.
