Sodha family reached Jodhpur from Pakistan for daughter’s marriage, know why marriage has to be done in India

A family in Jodhpur, Rajasthan has come from Pakistan to marry their daughter. According to the bride’s family members, most of her family members got married in India. To get married on the other side of the border in Pakistan, all the people of one’s caste belong to one’s own gotra, so one has to come to this side of the border for marriage. It is being told that on Wednesday the wedding procession will reach Jodhpur from Jaisalmer to pick up the bride. The bride’s name is Meena Sodha and her father’s name is Ganpat Singh Sodha, while mother’s name is Dimple Bhati.

What did the bride’s father tell?
The bride’s father Ganpat Singh Sodha told that in Pakistan all the people from his gotra live there and hence he cannot get his daughter married there. He said, “Marriage cannot be done within the same Gotra in Pakistan, so we have to come to India with a visa and get married here.”

Ganpat Singh Sodha also told that his elder brother Lal Singh Sodha came to India in 2013 and he currently does business in India. He said, “I have also decided to come to India in 2022 and get my daughter married here.”

Meena Sodha told that she has completed her studies from Kamla Nehru Women’s College, Jodhpur and she does not see any special difference between India and Pakistan. He said, “There is definitely a little fear in the mind on the other side of the border. But, on this side of the border everything seems very good. I also got my education from here.”

Describing the environment of India as good, bride’s mother Dimple Bhati said, “People in India are very nice and we have been traveling between India and Pakistan for the last 10 years.”

Ganpat Singh Sodha said that he has to face many difficulties in coming to India from Pakistan. He said, “There is no direct train or plane, the train through Munabao is also closed, which makes traveling difficult. Apart from this, there are problems in visa and visa extension also.”
