Please tell that Tawwur Hussain Rana, accused of Mumbai terror attacks, was produced in a Delhi court on Thursday night. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) requested the court to detain Rana for 20 days. Rana was brought to the Patiala House court in a convoy of several vehicles including jail vans, armored special vehicles and an ambulance.

Rana was produced before NIA Special Judge Chandrajit Singh. The agency told the court that questioning Rana is necessary to find out the big conspiracy behind the 2008 attacks. The agency also told the court that its role has to be investigated in the plot of attacks.

The NIA said that under the criminal conspiracy, accused number one David Coleman Headley had discussed the entire conspiracy (Mumbai terror attack) with Rana before coming to India. Secret advocate Dayan Krishnan and Special Public Prosecutor Narendra Mann represented NIA. Before the proceedings, the judge asked Rana whether he had any lawyer.

When Rana said that he does not have a lawyer, the judge told him that a lawyer is being provided by the Delhi Legal Services Authority. After this, advocate Piyush Sachdeva was appointed to represent him. After hearing the arguments, the court reserved its order. (Also from inputs language)
