US Vice President, trade agreement and global issues will be major agenda will reach India today

US Vice President JD Vance is coming on a four -day visit to India on Monday. The main focus of this visit will be to review the Indo-US trade agreement, strengthening bilateral relations and reviewing the implementation of the Indo-US joint statement released in February.

Along with Vance, his Indian -origin wife Usha Chilukuri and three of his children are also coming to India. This journey is special, as no existing US Vice President has visited India in the last decade. Earlier in 2013, in February 2013, the then Vice President and later became President who came to India.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will host Vice President Vance at his official residence on 7 Lok Kalyan Marg on Monday evening. In this meeting, along with discussion on the Indo-US trade agreement, methods of deepening strategic and economic relations between the two democratic countries will be considered.

National Security Advisor Ajit Doval and External Affairs Minister S.K. Jaishankar will also be present. Along with Vance, a five -member high -level delegation, including representatives of the Pentagon and State Department, has also come to India.

India’s Foreign Ministry said in a statement, “The yatra will give the two countries an opportunity to review the progress of bilateral relations and take stock of the status of implementation of joint statement issued during the Prime Minister’s visit to the US on 13 February. Also both sides will discuss regional and global issues.”

On April 21, Vance will go to Jaipur and stay there till 24 April. On the morning of 22 April, he will visit the famous Amer Mahal with his family. There he will get Rajasthani traditional reception, in which he will wear Jodhpuri safa and enjoy folk dances, puppet shows, traditional dress and local cuisine. The palace will remain closed for the common people and 12 trained guides will be deployed in their service.

The same day, Vance will address the US-India Business Summit at Rajasthan International Center. It will include top officials from India and America. During this time, they will share their vision to increase business and investment.

On 23 April, he will go to Agra and see the Taj Mahal. After staying there for about three hours, he will return to Jaipur and also see City Palace. On April 22, he will also meet Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma and Governor Haribhau Bagde.

On April 24, Vice President Vance will leave for Washington, and his journey is considered important for further strengthening the Indo-US partnership.
