Former veteran cricketers see the future of Sri Lanka in Kamindu Mendis. The main reason for this is his excellent batting. Actually, the 26-year-old batsman has played a total of 10 Tests, 16 ODIs and 23 T20 International matches for Sri Lanka so far.

Meanwhile, his bat has scored 1110 runs in 17 innings of Test at an average of 74.0, 298 runs in 15 innings of ODI at an average of 29.8 and 381 runs in 21 innings of T20 at an average of 19.05.

Mendis has five centuries and four half-centuries in Test cricket and two half-centuries each in ODI and T20 respectively.
