The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) has performed well in the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) Students’ Union elections and registered a historic victory for 23 posts of the total 42 counselor posts of 16 schools and various joint centers. This is the highest compared to any other student organization.
ABVP performance in various schools and centers
- School of International Studies: Victory in 2 out of 5 seats
- School of Social Science: Victory in 2 out of 5 seats
- School of Biotechnology: 1 of 2 conquers the seat
- Special Center for Molecular Medicine: 1 out of 1 seat
- School of Computational and Integrative Science: 1 of 2 conquers the seat
- School of Computer and System Science: Victory on 2 of 3 seats out of 3
- School of Engineering: Victory of 4 out of 4 seats (captured all seats)
- Special Center for Nanocines: 1 out of 1 seat victory
- School of Sanskrit & Indic Studies: Victory of 3 out of 3 seats (absolute majority)
- Amalgamated Center: Victory in 2 out of 2 seats
- School of Environmental Science: 1 out of 2 victory
- Atal Bihari Vajpayee School of Management and Entrepreneurship: 1 out of 1 seat
- School of Physical Science: Victory in 2 out of 3 seats
ABVP achieved historical success
The School of Social Science, which has been considered a stronghold of Left in JNU, has indicated a historical change by conquering two seats after 25 years. Similarly, the School of International Studies, which has been a major center of leftist influence for a long time, has also established a new political stream by conquering two seats.
From the beginning of the election process, the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad showed its strong presence. Council candidates have won unopposed on the posts of counselor of various schools. Surendra Bishnoi on the only seat of the School of Biotechnology, Praveen Piyush, Raja Babu and Prachi Jaiswal and Govardhan Singh have been elected unopposed on one seat of Special Center for Molecular Medicine on all three seats of the School of Sanskrit and Indic Studies.
Additionally, the four major seats of the central panel are Chairman- Shikha Swaraj, Vice President- Nitu Gautam, General Secretary- Kunal Rai and Joint Secretary-Vahabha Meena have been leading from the beginning. Due to which the Vidyarthi Parishad’s widespread acceptance in JNU and evidence of the trust of the students.

ABVP JNU unit president Rajeshwar Kant Dubey said, India Vikas Parishad (Bhavip) has conquered 23 out of 42 seats in JNUSU Council and has created history by capturing more than fifty percent presence in the council. Due to which JNUSU will now get an important place of ABVP in the decisions made by JNUSU. Which will act like a big dent in the stronghold of Left. This victory is the victory of that positive change as ABVP. Which has been selected by JNU students. This is the result of our struggle for nationalism, academic excellence and student interests. In future also, we will continue to work with full devotion for making the campus a laboratory of nation building and student welfare. ABVP expresses gratitude to all the conscious students of JNU to bring a wave of this change. ”
