He said that it is necessary to investigate the role of this gang of smuggling. He insisted that there is also an investigation into the concerns related to national security and suspected hawala transactions.

Rao said, “If we look at the intention of the crime in this case, the jail is the right place for him. The court should not bail only because the accused is a woman.” He further said that there are international connections in this case and smuggled with the help of a senior police officer. He said, “It should be investigated how the money was transferred and how the money was arranged to buy the seized gold.”

Danger of running away from country

The lawyer also said that Ranya Rao has an identity card, in which she is said to be a resident of Dubai, which increases the risk of her escape from the country. He said, “There is no concrete reason to bail him, especially when he has smuggled gold worth Rs 12.56 crore. Also, gold of Rs 2.67 crore cash and Rs 2.06 crore has already been seized. On March 4, his house was searched and he was legally arrested as per the instructions of the Supreme Court.”
