The ruling Liberal party of Canada is seen to be in power in Monday’s election but CTV News and CBC predicted that it would be too early to say whether they would form a majority government or not. Prime Minister Mark Carney had sought a strong mandate to help US President Donald Trump’s tariff and possession threats, but CTV and CBC said the Liberal Party has not yet made 172 election seats required for majority. The final result has not come yet and the party may depend on the most western province in the British Columbia for a majority, where the end voting was over. The Liberal Party is leading in 133 election districts (seats). This is followed by a conservative party with 93 seats.
The House of Canada has 343 seats. If Mark Carney achieves only a minority, he will have to talk with other parties to stay in power. Minority governments in Canada rarely last more than 2–1/2 years.
