
ICC Announced ODI Team of the Year 2024: The International Cricket Council (ICC ODI Playing 11 for year 2024) has announced the Men’s ODI Team of the Year for the year 2024. Players who have performed brilliantly in the 50 over format have been included in this list. The team includes players from Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and West Indies and in this playing 11, Sri Lankan player Charith Asalanka has been chosen as the captain.

Not a single Indian player could find a place in the team list released for the 50 over format in the year 2024. The All-Star team announced by ICC includes four players from Sri Lanka, three each from Pakistan and Afghanistan and one player from West Indies. India played only three ODIs, including an overseas series against Sri Lanka, losing two of them while the third match ended in a draw.
Sri Lankan captain Charith Aslanka (ICC Picks Charith Aslanka as Captain of ODI Team of 2024) was also selected as the captain of the ICC team for his excellent batting throughout the year. In his 16 ODI matches in 2024, Asalanka scored 605 runs at an average of 50.2, which included one century and four fifties. Sri Lanka played 18 ODIs last year, which is the most among all teams and won 12 of them. Pakistan won seven of its nine ODI matches, while Afghanistan won eight of its 14 ODI matches.
West Indies big hitter Sherfane Rutherford, who made his international debut in 2023. He is the only non-Asian in the ODI playing 11, scoring 425 runs in nine matches at an astonishing average of 106.2.
