“If you play with fire, it is also …" Sheikh Hasina’s warning to Bangladesh leader Mohammad Yunus

Sheikh Hasina, the former Prime Minister of Bangladesh and the country, forced to flee the country, criticized the interim government led by Muhammad Yunus on Sunday, calling him a “self-centered debtor”, who hatched a conspiracy to collapse the country with foreign players to quench his thirst for power. In the eight -minute video speech, he also expressed doubt about what caused Abu Saeed, a student protestor who became the face of the rebellion.

Sheikh Hasina left Bangladesh and fled to India in August last year to save her life. He vowed to return to Bangladesh a few days ago and said that this is the reason that Allah has kept him alive.

Addressing the video to his supporters on Sunday, he accused Yunus of eradicating the history of Bangladesh, especially to eradicate the history associated with the contribution of Awami League in the country’s freedom struggle.

He said, “All traces of Bangladesh’s independence movement are being erased. Mukti Jodha is being insulted. We had created Mukti Jodha Complex in all districts to keep their memories alive, but they are being burnt. Will Dr. Yunus be able to stop it properly? … If you play with fire, it will also burn you.”

Seven months after being forced to escape from the country, Hasina reiterated her claim of a foreign conspiracy that allegedly wanted to destroy Bangladesh.

He said, “That (Yunus) borrower, hungry of power, autism of money, autism and used money from abroad to ruin the country. BNP (Bangladesh Nationalist Party) and Jamaat-e-Islami (political) are killing and harassing (Awami League leaders).”

BNP, led by the ailing former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia, is considered to be the only major political option of the Awami League, which succeeded in removing Hasina from power in the past. Last year, when Hasina was forcibly removed from the chair, BNP raised hopes to return to power. But Jia is unlikely to return due to poor health.

A new arrest warrant has been issued against Hasina in Dhaka on Sunday itself. He has said that the end of the rule of Awami League has given Bangladesh an industrial blow, since then thousands of factories have been closed, and factories related to Awami leaders have been burnt. He said, everything from hotel to hospital is being destroyed.
