Pran started his career in the 1950s and ruled for nearly 2 decades. According to the report of Rediff, when Pran came to Mumbai during the sharing and struggled a lot. During the Indo-Pak partition, he came to India and worked in his first film ‘Yamla Jat’ in Lahore in 1940. After this, he moved to Indore and then to Bombay.

Pran had said- When riots started in Lahore in 1947, I sent my wife to Indore with our one year old child. My son’s first birthday was on 11 August 1947 and my wife told me that I should come to Indore, otherwise she will not celebrate her birthday. I reached Indore on 10 August and it was announced on All India Radio that communal massacre has started in Lahore. I could not go back, so we came to Bombay. On the eve of independence, I reached Bombay on 14 August 1947 with my family.
His first film in Mumbai was Ziddi which was released in 1948 and he appeared in films like Putli, Grihasti, Sheesh Mahal. Pran used to say- Most of my films were getting hit, so my demand was increasing. Pran has left this world now. He made a distinct identity by becoming a villain in the industry. He was a time that he used to pay more fees than heroes.
