The Marxist Communist Party (CPI -M) on Wednesday announced to oppose the Waqf Amendment Bill proposed by the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government at the Center and said that his party MPs would vote against it. This statement of the party has come amid opposition from the Catholic Church, which is criticizing the attitude of Kerala MPs on the bill.

MV Govindan, secretary of the CPI (M) state unit, spoke on the party’s stand on the other side of the party’s 24th session held from April 2 to 6 in Madurai, Tamil Nadu.
