Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said on Wednesday that the huge potential of Artificial Intelligence (AI) should be harnessed while solving social problems. Speaking at a symposium during the annual meeting of the World Economic Forum (WEF), Vaishnaw said about AI that the government is in discussion with all stakeholders to get the right regulatory framework so that innovation and regulation are balanced. He said that the potential of AI can be used to solve some of the most complex problems like healthcare, weather, logistics and design.

Vaishnav said that this potential should be fully utilized, but at the same time social problems should also be solved. He also said that this time India has set up integrated and joint pavilions, in which the state government pavilions are also a part of the India pavilion. Vaishnav said that leaders around the world have shown confidence in India for its policy certainty and the progress of the Indian economy.
Regarding India’s semiconductor program, the Union Electronics and Information Minister said that the industry has shown solid confidence in our semiconductor program. He said that our first chip made in India will arrive early this year. And now we are looking at the next phase, where we can bring equipment manufacturers, material manufacturers and designers to India.
Railway Minister Vaishnav said on Railways that a large population in India is traveling by railways and we have to improve the passenger experience, and hence we are introducing four new generation trains – Vande Bharat Chair Car, Vande Bharat Sleeper, Amrit Bharat Train and Namo. Bharat has come up with this plan of rapid train. At the WEF, Vaishnav assured people across the world that India will continue to focus on sustainable and inclusive growth.
Before reaching Davos on Tuesday night, the Union Minister met the Swiss Federal Railways (SBB) delegation in Zurich and held detailed discussions on safety technologies and maintenance procedures. He also visited Stadler Rail’s rail coach manufacturing plant in Margrethen, Switzerland. Stadler Rail manufactures double-decker multiple-unit trains. The minister also met representatives of railway sector companies, including Romberg Sersa AG, Cellectron, Usentrix, Autech and New Glass.
