Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin said on Sunday that the state government would pay the entire bill of the woman’s hospital which was pushed out of the moving train in Vellore district for opposing sexual harassment. Stalin announced financial assistance of three lakh rupees to the woman and expressed grief over the abortion of the woman due to the incident on February 6.
The Chief Minister announced that the state government will bear the entire cost of treatment of the woman and she has instructed the authorities to take special care of the victim.
Senior railway officials met the woman in the hospital on February 8 and gave her an ex -gratia amount of Rs 50,000 and assured all possible help.
The woman was four months pregnant at the time of the incident. The accused has been identified as Hemraj, who hails from a village in Vellore district. He has been arrested. There are already many serious criminal cases against him.
