Assam Board Extends Class X, XII Regular Classes To Complete Syllabus


 

GUWAHATI: The Assam State School Education Board (ASSEB) has extended the period for regular classes of Classes X and XII to allow schools to complete the syllabus, citing disruptions caused by recent floods in several districts and the ongoing census activities across the state.

As per a notification issued by the board on Tuesday, September 8, regular classes for Class X may continue until February 22, 2027, while Class XII classes may continue until March 8, 2027.

The board said the course content for Class X is unlikely to be completed by the first week of February 2027 and that for Class XII by February 28, 2027, as earlier anticipated.

“Therefore, it is decided that regular classes of Class X may continue till 22nd February, 2027 and for Class XII those may continue till 8th March, 2027 to complete the course contents,” the notification stated.

The board added that the schedules for the HSLC Examination and HS Final Examination would be decided in accordance with the revised arrangements.
