GUWAHATI: The flood situation in Assam continues to remain grim, with the death toll rising to 65, while more than 6.54 lakh people have been affected across 10 districts, according to the latest flood bulletin dated July 25.

The affected districts are Golaghat, Charaideo, Kamrup, Hojai, Dibrugarh, Sivasagar, Jorhat, Sonitpur, Kamrup (Metro), and Nagaon.
A total of 6,54,838 people have been impacted by the floods, with 810 villages remaining inundated.
The deluge has also caused extensive damage to agriculture, with 34,970.8 hectares of cropland submerged under floodwaters.
To provide relief to affected residents, the state administration has opened 274 relief camps and relief distribution centres, where displaced families are being provided shelter and essential supplies.
The floods have also severely impacted livestock, with 4,54,071 animals affected across the flood-hit districts. Additionally, 3,021 animals have been washed away in the floods.
Authorities continue to monitor the situation as rescue and relief operations remain underway in the affected areas.
