Congratulating the swimmer, Assam Swimming Association General Secretary Bhaskar Ranjan Das expressed satisfaction over the team's strong start. He lauded Kasturi for bringing home the state's first gold medal at a time when Assam is grappling with the aftermath of recent floods.

Kasturi is currently undergoing advanced training under experienced coach Babul Gurung, whose guidance has been credited with helping her achieve the milestone.

The Assam contingent will continue its campaign in the remaining events of the championship, which concludes on August 9.
