Assam Police Cracks Down on Drug Trafficking, Nabs Accused with Suspected Heroin


 

GUWAHATI: Sontoli OP under Kamrup Police conducted an anti-narcotics operation at Goroimari Bilorjan based on credible information, leading to the arrest of a man allegedly involved in drug trafficking.

The accused was identified as Foridul Islam, 28, son of Surat Jamal and a resident of Jorsimli Gaspathar under Chaygaon Police Station in Kamrup district. Police said Islam was apprehended while allegedly attempting to deliver illicit drugs.

During the operation, police recovered 38 containers containing suspected heroin, with the total weight estimated at around 64 grams, including the containers. A mobile phone and a motorcycle were also seized from his possession.

Police said further legal proceedings have been initiated against the accused in accordance with the law. Kamrup Police shared details of the operation on social media.
