GUWAHATI: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Friday, November 6, released the date sheets for the Class 10 and Class 12 board examinations for 2027. The examinations for both classes will begin on February 16, with all papers scheduled to commence at 10:30 am.

According to the schedule, Class 10 examinations will conclude on March 9, while Class 12 examinations will continue until April 9.
CBSE has released the date sheets 101 days ahead of the examinations this year to give students sufficient time to prepare for their board examinations as well as upcoming entrance tests.
More than 26.5 lakh students have registered for the Class 10 examinations, while over 19.8 lakh students have registered for Class 12. Students will appear in 83 subjects in Class 10 and 121 subjects in Class 12.
In a statement, the board said the date sheets were prepared based on the final data submitted by schools through the List of Candidates (LOC) process, which provided details of the subject combinations chosen by students.
The board said it had considered more than 40,000 subject combinations while preparing the schedules to ensure that examinations for two subjects opted for by the same student do not clash. Adequate gaps have also been provided between commonly chosen subjects in both classes.
The tentative schedules of major entrance examinations for Class 12 students were also taken into account while preparing the timetable. CBSE said every effort had been made to complete the board examinations before the commencement of these entrance tests.
The board added that the early release of the date sheets would help reduce examination-related anxiety among students and allow schools to undertake academic planning and provide necessary support to board classes.
It would also help students, parents and teachers plan their engagements and summer vacation travel in accordance with the examination and evaluation schedules, the board said.
CBSE has also announced the schedule for practical examinations and internal assessments for the 2026–27 academic session.
For affiliated schools in India and abroad, practical examinations and internal assessments for Classes 10 and 12 will be conducted from January 1 to February 13, 2027.
However, practical examinations for students of winter-bound schools will be held earlier, from November 9 to December 19.
