Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay has taken a major decision, facing heavy criticism from the Tamilga Vetri Kazhagam alliance as well as opposition parties. He removed his personal astrologer Ricky Radhan Pandit Vetivel from the post of Officer on Special Duty or OSD in the Chief Minister’s Office.
The cancellation came a day after Vetivel was appointed to the key post in the Chief Minister’s office. The news of this appointment has sparked a deep debate in political circles across Tamil Nadu. Allies like VCK, CPI(M) and CPI(M), which supported the TVK government, openly opposed the move and targeted the government for criticism.
VCK MLA Bani Archu expressed displeasure over the government’s move just ahead of the trust vote in the assembly. He urged the government to emphasize scientific and rational thinking rather than superstition or astrology. The legislator made it clear that our government should give priority to scientific thinking only, not astrology.
