The two, along with CJP activist Ajinkya Shinde, were arrested after allegedly entering the protest site on October 13, a day after Jantar Mantar was de-notified as a designated protest venue.

According to reports citing Delhi Police, Das, Ranka, Shinde and 11 other CJP members reached Jantar Mantar on Tuesday morning by allegedly entering through private property. Police personnel attempted to stop them, but the group allegedly obstructed officials in the discharge of their duties.

All 14 individuals were detained and subsequently bound down in their respective cases. Police later arrested the three activists under preventive provisions, citing alleged repeated attempts to disturb public order and violate the law.

The three were produced before a Special Executive Magistrate (SEM) at around 8 AM on Wednesday. Proceedings were initiated under Sections 126 and 170 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS).

Police said the magistrate found a serious apprehension that Das and Ranka could again violate the law or allegedly instigate others if released. The court subsequently remanded the two to five days of judicial custody.

Shinde, meanwhile, was directed to execute a personal bond and surety of ₹5,000 and was bound down to maintain peace and good behaviour for six months, police said.

The activists face allegations including criminal trespass, violation of bond conditions and obstruction of a public servant in the discharge of official duties.

Das and Ranka had earlier been detained during a protest in the national capital on Saturday and released after furnishing a bond of ₹50,000 and undertaking not to be involved in any breach-of-peace cases for one year.

CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke confirmed the judicial custody of Das and Ranka in a post on X. Earlier, CJP legal team head Ratna Singh had alleged that the activists were not allowed to meet their lawyers until late at night following their arrest at Parliament Street Police Station.
