Exit Polls Predict Hat Trick for NDA with Sweeping Victory in Assam Elections 2026


 

GUWAHATI: The exit poll results for Assam, which voted in a single phase on April 9 to elect its 16th Legislative Assembly, have been released. Most projections indicate a return of the BJP-led government in the state. A party requires 64 seats to secure a majority to form a government.

Axis My India’s exit poll has predicted a commanding win for the BJP-led alliance in Assam, projecting it to secure between 88 and 100 seats in the 126-member Assembly. The estimate points to a clear majority for the NDA, strengthening its hold on the state following a high voter turnout.

According to the same projection, the Congress-led alliance is likely to win 24 to 36 seats, placing it a distant second as early indicators suggest a decisive mandate in favour of the ruling alliance.

Chanakya Strategies has also given the NDA a clear edge, giving the ruling alliance 88-98 seats while projecting the Congress-led alliance tally at a mere 22-32. 

As far as predictions by Matrize is concerned, the BJP-led bloc is projected to win 85-95 seats. On the other hand, the Congress-led bloc is likely to bag 25-32 seats.

The JVC exit poll has projected 88-101 seats for the ruling bloc while the Congress-led alliance has been forecasted to secure 23-33 seats.

As per the predictions by Vote Vibe, the BJP-led alliance is expected to win 90-100 seats while the Congress-led alliance has been projected to win 23-33 seats.
