GUWAHATI: The Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) conducted an eviction drive in the Borbari area near VIP Road, Sixmile, on Tuesday night, July 21 to remove unauthorised encroachments from public land.

According to a post shared by the civic body on its official social media handle, the operation targeted unauthorised structures occupying public spaces. Visuals released by the GMC showed personnel dismantling makeshift structures, clearing roadside debris and using municipal vehicles to remove the materials.
The civic body said the drive was part of its ongoing efforts to keep public spaces accessible and maintain urban infrastructure. It added that similar enforcement drives against encroachments would continue in different parts of the city.
The latest operation is part of a series of eviction drives carried out by the GMC in recent months to remove alleged encroachments from public spaces and roadways across Guwahati.
