“Assam being the leading producer of this product which has a high demand in global market, Guwahati Airport's Export point declaration comes as a great relief for lakhs of people associated with this industry,” Sarma wrote.

Assam is one of India's leading agarwood-producing states. On October 26, the Chief Minister flagged off 123 kg of agarwood chips for export to Dubai.

At the time, Sarma said Assam accounts for 81% of India's agarwood production.
