The organisation said the decision follows Peindia’s acceptance of several demands raised by EV auto drivers, including changes to the platform’s fare structure and provisions for driver welfare.
Under the proposed fare structure, the base fare for Peindia EV autos will be ₹40 for journeys of up to 3 km. The drivers’ forum has also sought higher fares for trips of up to 10 km and an increase in the permitted passenger capacity.
For journeys exceeding 10 km, the fare will be₹16 for every additional kilometre, according to the fare details shared by the organisation.
The platform has also agreed to a cancellation charge of ₹30, the forum said.
On the welfare front, the proposed arrangement includes insurance benefits in case of a driver's accidental death, along with medical assistance in the event of a sudden vehicle accident.
The shift from Ola and Uber to Peindia comes as EV auto drivers seek better fares and improved financial and safety provisions for their services.
