GUWAHATI: The Railway Protection Force (RPF) seized suspected brown sugar worth around ₹2.10 crore at Kamakhya Railway Junction in Maligaon, Guwahati, and arrested two women smugglers.

Acting on an operation at the station, RPF personnel apprehended both women on the arrival of train No. 15960 (Kamrup Express) on the platform at about 9:27 am. A search reportedly led to the recovery of roughly 1 kg 52 grams of suspected brown sugar.
The two accused are in custody, and further investigation is underway to trace the source of the contraband and the wider network behind the smuggling.
