The pandal is being designed by artisans from Kolkata, while the Durga idol is being crafted by an artisan from Guwahati. The celebrations will also feature cultural programmes organised by local performers.
Several other Durga Puja pandals across Guwahati will feature distinctive themes this year.
Latasil will recreate the Kedarnath Temple to mark its golden jubilee celebrations. Pandu Bara Bazar will draw inspiration from the Dwadash Jyotirlinga, highlighting the twelve sacred Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva.
Other pandals across the city will feature themes inspired by the Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple at Athgaon, Naglok at Bishnupur, a cosmic concept in Pandu and Nandi Maharaj in Maligaon.
The Nepal flash flood-themed pandal is being organised by the Sarbajanin Geetanagar Durga Puja Committee.
