In Kozhikode, Kerala, a woman handed over her son to the police, as she allegedly threatened to kill her and other family members. Sources gave this information. Mini, a resident of Alathur, had informed the police about receiving threats from his son Rahul (26), after which the police arrested the accused son from his house on Friday. Mini said that his son had been consuming narcotics for a long time and all his attempts to improve him failed.
Mini said that he had lodged a case against Rahul earlier too, but he had given bail to the son thinking that he would rectify his mistake and stop taking drugs. But this time I have harden my heart like a stone and will not repeat my previous mistake again.
According to Mini, ‘Rahul confessed that he was getting intoxicated since the age of 13, but we came to know about it when he was 18-19 years old. We admitted him to the doctors and admitted him to the centers. After treatment, there was improvement for a few days, but then he used to consume drugs from somewhere., ‘
He said that in the last four years, many criminal cases have been registered against Rahul, including a case related to Poxo (sexual offense against children). Mini told that when he refused to give money to the son for drugs, he got angry and bitten a child with a tooth.
He told that after this I lodged a complaint with the police. But when Rahul apologized to me while crying in jail and vowed not to get intoxicated, I believed him and got him bail. He said, ‘I realized that I made a mistake and will not repeat it again.’
A senior police officer said that Rahul is a habitual criminal and there are cases of poxo, intoxication and theft in several police stations. He said, ‘He is currently an accused in the Poxo case and is under trial against him. Recently, the court issued a warrant against him. When his mother informed us, we went home and arrested him.
