GUWAHATI: A man was found dead near the road connecting Gauhati Medical College and Hospital and Ganeshguri in Guwahati on Thursday morning, May 7, police said.

The deceased has been identified as Samiran Das, a resident of Barpeta, who had reportedly been staying in the city for work-related reasons.
Speaking to GPlus, the officer in-charge of Dispur Police Station informed that Das was discovered hanging from a tree along the roadside, triggering concern among locals in the area. Following the incident, law enforcement authorities arrived at the scene and launched an investigation.
“Das is suspected to have committed suicide but the exact reason remains unclear,” the police official said.
Further investigation is underway.
