GUWAHATI: Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday, July 21 led a sit-in protest outside Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s official residence at 7, Lok Kalyan Marg, intensifying the Congress party’s attack on the Centre over the alleged crackdown on supporters of the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP).

Rahul Gandhi was joined by Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and several senior party leaders during the protest. The leaders sat on the road outside the Prime Minister’s residence, raising slogans and demanding the resignation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
In a post on X, Rahul Gandhi said, "We have marched to PM Modi’s house to demand answers from him for the brutalities against young students yesterday. The Government doesn’t want to take any accountability or does it want to have a debate on it in Parliament. PM and HM must resign for destroying the future of India’s youth."
The Congress has accused the Union government of using state agencies to suppress political dissent and target CJP supporters. The party alleged that the recent action against CJP workers is part of a broader attempt to silence opposition voices.
