GUWAHATI: Sonapur Police seized 198 bottles of codeine syrup concealed inside a travelling bag during an operation at Digaru based on specific intelligence inputs. Six persons from Nagaon district were apprehended in connection with the seizure, police said.

The arrested have been identified as Saddam Hussein (31), Dildar Ali (29), Aizul Hussain (28), Anuwar Hussain (38), Moinul Islam (35) and Wahidul Ali (18). The contraband was recovered during the operation conducted by the police team at Digaru.
Legal action against the accused has been initiated. Further investigation is underway.
