GUWAHATI: Gorchuk Police arrested two men from Thane in Maharashtra at the Inter State Bus Terminus (ISBT) in Guwahati on Thursday, October 29, and seized eight bundles of suspected counterfeit ₹500 notes, Guwahati Police said.

A team from Gorchuk police station intercepted the consignment and arrested Uzair Kasim Shaikh, 26, and Ansari Mohd Shaban Atik Ahmed, 27.
The notes were described as Fake Indian Currency Notes (FICN).
Police said "legal action" has been initiated against the two but did not name the charges.
The total value of the seizure is not known.
Two mobile phones were seen with the seized notes in a photograph released by police.
The two have been arrested, not convicted. Further details, including the charges and court production, are awaited.
