A team from Khanapara Traffic Outpost traced and brought Sabita Das to appear before authorities after the video surfaced online. The footage showed her driving a four-wheeler vehicle while a young child sat on her lap, apparently handling the steering wheel.

During questioning, Das stated that the video was recorded on June 2, 2026, at around 4:07 AM near Beltola in Guwahati. She informed police that the child seen in the video was her sister's daughter.

Police counselled her on the dangers and potential consequences of such reckless driving behaviour, particularly the risk it poses to both the child and other road users. She was also warned against repeating such actions in the future.

Legal proceedings have been initiated against her under Section 184(f) of the Motor Vehicles Act. Her driving licence has been seized and is currently under process for suspension.
