GUWAHATI: An 18-year-old girl has been reported missing from the Sawkuchi Bridge area in Guwahati, with her family filing a missing person complaint at Gorchuk Police Station after being unable to trace her despite searching nearby areas.

According to the complaint lodged by the family, the girl, identified as Sneha Basu, went missing on the evening of April 23 at around 8 pm. Police officials said that an investigation has been initiated, but she has not been found so far.
In the complaint, the family urged the police to take immediate steps to trace the missing girl.
“With due respect, I would like to inform that my niece Sneha Basu, aged 18 years and 10 months, has been missing since April 23 from the Sawkuchi Bridge area. We have searched all nearby and suspected places, but we have not been able to find any information regarding her whereabouts. We request the police to take necessary action and help us locate her as soon as possible,” the family mentioned in the complaint.
According to the details provided by the family, Sneha Basu is around five feet tall, has a medium build, swarthy complexion, and long black hair. At the time she went missing, she was reportedly wearing a blue frock.
“We have been trying to find her since the moment we realised she was missing. We searched nearby areas and contacted possible places where she might have gone, but there has been no trace of her. We are extremely worried and only hope that she is found safe as soon as possible,” a family member said.
Talking to GPlus, an official from Gorchuk Police Station said that police have already started the investigation and efforts are being made to trace the girl.
“She has not been found yet, but efforts are being made to trace her,” the official said.
Further investigation is underway.
