GUWAHATI: The Assam government on Wednesday released ₹11.285 crore in financial assistance for 494 Anganwadi centres damaged by floods across four Upper Assam districts.

Under the assistance, each affected Anganwadi centre will receive ₹2.5 lakh.
Of the 494 affected centres, 95 are located in Charaideo, 12 in Golaghat, 37 in Jorhat and 350 in Sivasagar.
Speaking at a press conference, a senior official of the Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA) said 970 surveyors are currently working on the ground to assess and register losses of property and livestock in the flood-affected districts.
The Assam government had last week launched an app to enable field surveyors to record property and livestock losses suffered by flood-affected people in Upper Assam.
The recent floods in the region have claimed 102 lives and affected around 12 lakh people.
