GUWAHATI: The All Assam Students’ Union (AASU) will organise a special tribute programme for late singer and musician Zubeen Garg at district headquarters across Assam on September 19.

Titled ‘Puhorore Chakigusi’, the programme will be organised by AASU’s district units, with the central event scheduled at Latasil playground in Guwahati in association with the All Kamrup (M) District Students’ Union and the All Guwahati Students’ Union.
The Guwahati programme will begin at 6 PM, according to AASU president Utpal Sarma and general secretary Samiran Phukan.
As part of the tribute, AASU’s district units will organise performances of Zubeen Garg’s song ‘Mayabini’, along with quiz and drawing competitions, tree plantation, naam prasanga and other programmes.
Students, local artistes, prominent citizens and others will participate in the programmes, which are intended to commemorate Zubeen Garg through his music and artistic contributions.
