GUWAHATI: Assam’s railway network has now been fully electrified, marking the completion of the state’s railway electrification journey.

The announcement was made by Union Minister for Railways, Information & Broadcasting, Electronics & Information Technology, Ashwini Vaishnaw, on X, on Monday, September 14.
The milestone was achieved with the electrification of the challenging 169-km Lumding-Badarpur Hill Section, one of the key railway stretches in the region.
With the completion of this section, all railway routes across Assam are now electrified, strengthening rail connectivity and enabling more efficient train operations across the state.
