GUWAHATI: Assam and Andhra Pradesh officials held discussions on the implementation of flagship Centrally Sponsored Schemes and important state schemes, with a focus on sharing experiences and best practices to improve public service delivery and governance.

The interaction meeting was held on September 17 at the Conference Hall of the Finance Department, Janata Bhawan, Dispur, during the study tour of Andhra Pradesh Twenty Point Programme Chairperson Dinakar Lanka and his accompanying team. It was organised by the Plan Coordination Division of the Transformation and Development Department, Assam.
Lanka, who attended the meeting as the chief guest and spokesperson, said the interaction provided an opportunity for the two states to exchange information, experiences and successful practices in implementing major development programmes and state-specific schemes. He said such an exchange could help improve the effectiveness of development initiatives and strengthen the delivery of benefits to people.
Representatives from Assam’s Finance, Panchayat and Rural Development, Higher Education, Health and Family Welfare, Industries, Commerce and Public Enterprises, Handloom and Textiles, School Education, Housing and Urban Affairs, Public Health Engineering, Power, and Science and Technology departments participated in the discussions.
The meeting covered flagship initiatives aimed at improving public services, strengthening governance and promoting inclusive development. Discussions also highlighted the role of Centrally Sponsored Schemes in sectors including rural development, education, health, housing, infrastructure, employment, industry, artificial intelligence, science and technology, business sciences and social welfare.
