Speaking to the media, Sarma said several political leaders who visited the late singer’s memorial after his death had earlier criticised him during his lifetime. He further claimed that some of them stopped invoking Zubeen Garg’s name once the elections were over.
“Those who frequently came here and engaged in politics had always criticised Zubeen Garg when he was alive,” the Chief Minister said.
Sarma made the remarks while visiting the singer’s samadhi kshetra, accompanied by Minister Pijush Hazarika. During the visit, the Chief Minister also inaugurated the construction work of a boundary wall at the memorial site.
