GUWAHATI: The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) on Sunday night, June 7, conducted a search operation at the residence of BJP MLA Ramakanta Deuri in Assam's Morigaon district as part of its investigation into the alleged Assam Fishery Development Corporation recruitment scam.

The raid was carried out in connection with alleged irregularities in appointments made within the corporation. Following the operation, the CID reportedly served a notice to the legislator, directing him to appear before the investigating team for questioning.
Deuri is among several individuals being examined in the case, which centres on allegations of irregularities and malpractice in the recruitment process. The probe has attracted significant attention across the state, with investigators scrutinising documents and gathering evidence to determine the extent of the alleged violations.
The CID has intensified its investigation in recent weeks, questioning multiple individuals and carrying out searches at various locations linked to the case. Officials have not yet issued a detailed statement on the findings of the latest raid.
