Assam Govt Issues Helpline Numbers for People Stranded in Nepal Floods


 

GUWAHATI: The Assam government has issued helpline numbers for people from the state who are currently stranded in Nepal amid the ongoing floods and flash floods.

In an important notice issued by the Office of the Resident Commissioner, Assam Bhawan, New Delhi, stranded individuals and their families have been advised to contact Assam Bhawan for assistance, support and coordination.

People can contact Anuran Medhi, ACS, Assam Bhawan, New Delhi, at +91-9101089151, or House Manager Vinod Kalita at +91-8920570507.

For emergency assistance, the numbers 011-23010299/98 and 26877111 are also available. The helplines can be contacted 24×7 for emergency assistance, coordination and information regarding Assam residents stranded in Nepal.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, in a post on X, said the government is aware of people from Assam stranded in Nepal and is in touch with their families. He added that the state is coordinating with relevant agencies to ensure their safety and facilitate their earliest possible return home.
