GUWAHATI: The Assam Rifles, in coordination with the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI), Silchar, seized 109.2 kg of Yaba tablets valued at approximately ₹327 crore in Hailakandi district of Assam.

Acting on specific intelligence, a joint team of the Assam Rifles and DRI conducted an operation in the Ramnathpur area of Hailakandi between September 15 and 16.
During the operation, the team recovered 546 packets of Yaba tablets weighing 109.2 kg. Two trucks, a mobile phone, an Aadhaar card and a driving licence were also seized.
One person was arrested in connection with the seizure.
The agencies described the recovery as one of the largest Yaba seizures in the region and said it has disrupted the movement of narcotics linked to organised trafficking networks.
The arrested person, along with the seized contraband, vehicles and other recovered items, was handed over to the DRI, Silchar, for further investigation and legal action.
