GUWAHATI: Basistha police, under the leadership of Officer in charge Kapil Pathak, along with support from Jorabat police, conducted a major operation resulting in the seizure of drugs worth approximately ₹2 crore.

The consignment was reportedly being transported from Manipur toward Guwahati, concealed inside a truck's diesel tank.
The seized heroin weighed around 263 grams. Police recovered the drugs after discovering a secret compartment hidden within the tanker's fuel tank, from which 20 packets containing the narcotics were pulled out.
One supplier, identified as Mohammad Ferizuddin, has been arrested in connection with the case. Police say investigation into the matter is ongoing.
Talking to the media the official said “We received the information about drugs being transported from nearby states to Guwahati and we(Basistha Police) along with Jorabat police conducted a naka checking and caught a dumper”. “We will carry out further investigation,” he added.
