GUWAHATI: Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma will launch the distribution of application forms for the Mukhya Mantrir Nijut Moina Aasoni and Mukhya Mantrir Nijut Babu Aasoni schemes across 452 educational institutions in Assam on August 6.

The central launch programme will be held at Srimanta Sankaradeva International Auditorium, Panjabari, Guwahati, where the Chief Minister will also launch the Shikhyarthee Sahayak Prayas (SSP) scheme to provide financial assistance to students for purchasing study materials.
According to the official programme, application forms for both schemes will be distributed simultaneously across 452 institutions on the launch day.
Under the Mukhya Mantrir Nijut Moina Aasoni, eligible girl students studying in Class XI and XII, as well as those enrolled in first and second-year diploma and polytechnic courses, will receive ₹800 per month. Girls pursuing undergraduate (UG), Integrated Teacher Education Programme (ITEP), and third-year diploma/polytechnic courses will receive ₹1,250 per month, while those pursuing postgraduate and B.Ed. courses will be eligible for ₹2,500 per month. The financial assistance will be provided for up to 10 months, excluding June, July, and the winter break.
The Mukhya Mantrir Nijut Babu Aasoni will provide monthly assistance of ₹1,000 for undergraduate students and ₹2,000 for postgraduate students.
Meanwhile, under the Shikhyarthee Sahayak Prayas (SSP) scheme, eligible students will receive one-time financial assistance to purchase study materials. The assistance includes ₹1,000 for Higher Secondary students, ₹3,000 for undergraduate students, and ₹5,000 for postgraduate students.
As per the announced timeline, applications will be accepted until August 14, followed by verification between August 17 and September 10. The beneficiary portal will remain open until September 5, while the ceremonial distribution of cheques is scheduled for October 10.
